Male fertility

For a sperm cell to fertilise the egg cell :

  • A sperm volume of at least 2 millilitres is required to carry enough spermatozoa into the female genital tract
  • An ejaculation must contain at least 20 million spermatozoa per millilitre of sperm
  • Over 75% of these sperm cells must be living
  • The sperm cells need to be good swimmers to be able to travel up through the cervix and Fallopian tubes to reach the egg cell. Sperm is considered to be normal if over 50% of its spermatozoa present progressive motility. WHO (World Health Organisation) figures.
  • Fertimax supports male fertility.
